As today’s children are futures of the nation. Those are going to handle the nation tomorrow so children are the foundation of the nation. Hence if those children are not well cared and well fed then nation will have blank future. So we must care the children health and education.Om Mane Trekking company also involved in doing child welfare program although it is non profitable and non-government. The program main aim to focus on child educational career.  

We sincerely think about how to make the child an independent citizen for tomorrow. Nepal has nearly 23million people - 35% of them are not able to afford school fees. Those children are not well fed and well cared for. For brighter future and educational career of poor children, Sponsar by Wir helfen Nepal and management by om mane trekking have established a school named 'Om Mane Public School' in 2003 at Golkhutar in Nuwakot.This is a non government, non profit, community base program. Currently 125 students are studying in this school.  Out of them 26 children are studying with full partnership and 24 children are in full scholarship. They all are from very impoverished family. Some of them don’t have parent. We are giving them full support on their education and health. We are committed to make significant change on their lives with the help of sponsors and donors making them valuable person for the nation. Though it has born for a sole mission of social welfare by community development and child welfare. So, to achieve its goal, it has various programs in which many people from across the world find the space their personal goal associated. Therefore, these programs join up the benefactor and participants from across the world. In this tie-up, all have give and take relationship.

Om mane public school (History)

 

As we know “every journey start from single step” and the Om mane pubic school has also its first step or story of the established of this school. At first when Om and his German friends were trekking and traveling through vehicle in Langtang Region. On the way vehicle did not work properly and they could not go further. Since there is no any workshop, it became impossible to repair the vehicle at that time so they have to stay one night in that local place and the nearest local place was Gorkhutar. When they went in Gorkhutar to stay for one night the local villager welcome them very kindly which was not expected by Om and his friends. For this kindly behavior they became very impressed on those local villagers. And they decided to make that place more popular by getting more tourists to visit that place also throughout there trekking. After that in every year Om and his trekking groups visit and stay in that place. In the staying duration local people have to maintain all expenses for foods and rooms for the visitor. Om and his partner realized that the local people can not handle those expenses for long-term. Hence they made a package in which each tourist have to pay $15 to the hosting family. In this way relation between villagers and Om-Mane become closer. After some year Om-Mane comes to know that villager need one school in that village. But establishment of school from personal investment is not possible thus in 1995, Wir Helfen Nepal is established in German to sponsor for that school. Om-Mane and villager work very hard to build that school. And the school is named to their own name ‘Om-Mane public school’. German association “Wir Helfen Nepal” helps it its duty made support different projects in Nepal. Emphasis is the village Gerkhutar way of Langtang.Wir helfen Nepal has set itself the task of different projects in Nepal to support. Om mane public school is one of the examples of them.
